Surrey RCMP is informing the public of a collision involving a pedestrian struck by a truck in the Newton area.
At approximately 1843 hours, March 24, 2022, Surrey RCMP responded to a collision at 80th Ave and 128th Street, where a pedestrian had been Struck by a truck. The female pedestrian has been taken to hospital in serious condition. The vehicle and the driver were located and the driver was taken into custody.
The area around 80th Ave and 128th Street has been closed off to allow police to investigate the cause of the collision. We are asking motorists to use an alternate route.
The investigation into the collision is in its early states. The Criminal Collision Investigation Team has taken conduct of this investigation.
