Chandigarh: Eight Fortuner-borne miscreants robbed a family returning from Canada at Bilasupar village in Moga district of Punjab on Saturday late night, police said on Monday.
Miscreants looted cash, jewellery and mobile phones before breaking the glass of Innova car. The police have registered a case against the unidentified accused.
Hardeep Singh, a resident of Badhani Kalan, said that his father Makhan Lal, mother and his 13-year-old niece had returned to India from Canada after a year. He was returning home with them on Saturday night when suddenly over eight accused stopped their Fortuner car in front of their car and later robbed them.
Nihal Singh Wala Sub-Inspector Jaswant Singh said that they are scanning the CCTV footages to identify and nab the robbers. Soon, the robbers riding the Fortuner will be arrested.
