Richmond: The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has identified a suspect vehicle in connection with a shooting in Richmond. 

“Through extensive video canvassing, IHIT has identified a suspect vehicle, described as a black 2021 Hyundai Santa Fe, which was parked in the hours leading up to the homicide on the west-side of the 8100-block of Minler Road, with the suspects inside,” homicide investigators said in a press release. 

On July 27 at 5:42 pm, the Richmond RCMP received multiple reports of shots fired in the 8000 block of Minler Road. 

Richmond RCMP frontline officers and BC Emergency Health Services located a man, later identified as 37-year-old Ravinder Samra, suffering from gunshot wounds.  

RCMP said despite best efforts, the victim could not be saved. 

A short time later, officers received reports of a vehicle found engulfed in flames in the 12000 block of Blundell Road. 

IHIT has been investigating the incident and continues to work closely with the Richmond RCMP, Integrated Forensic Identification Services and BC Coroners Service.
