Chandigarh: Gangster Goldy Brar, the mastermind of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala’s murder, has been taken into custody in California, USA. According to sources, Goldy was detained on 20 November and now he has been arrested. However, so far the California Police has not formally given any statement about it.
Confirming the development during a press conference in Gujarat, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said that gangster Brar has been detained in California and he would be extracted to India soon.
According to media reports, the US investigative agency FBI has talked to Indian agencies. It is being said that Goldy can be sent to India. After receiving the information, Indian intelligence agencies contacted US agencies. Red corner notice has already been issued against Brar in 2 old cases. He had fled to California for political asylum a few days earlier from Canada.

Brar was living in Canada at the time of Moosewala’s murder. After Singer’s murder, he came under target of Indian intelligence agencies and fans of Moosewala. He was afraid that someone might reveal his whereabouts because of this he fled from Canada to Fresno City, California, USA some time ago. Going there, he also tried to get political asylum with the help of two lawyers, sources in the Indian agencies said.
According to the inputs received by the intelligence agencies, Goldy Brar was detained on the basis of the informer of Canada-based gangster Lakhbir Singh Landa Harike. Due to this, it is also being expressed that there has been a split among the gangsters and they are giving inputs against each other to the intelligence agencies.
