Toronto: A 38-year-old table tennis coach from the Town of Newmarket has been arrested and charged with several incidents of sexual assaults against a child by York Regional Police.
Jianfei SUN, 38, of the Town of Newmarket has been charged Sexual Assault x3, Sexual Interference Under 16 x3 and Invitation to Sexual Touching.
Police said that it began an investigation on February 11, 2023, against table tennis coach after one of his students reported several sexual assaults that occurred in the fall of 2022 and continued into this year when the female student was 13 years old.
The incidents occurred during private lessons at the accused’s home, where he runs a club called JF Table Tennis Club (JFTTC).
Investigators believe that he has had access to children through his coaching. Investigators are releasing his photo and are urging any additional victims or witnesses to come forward.
