Ottawa: Senior justice and public safety officials from Canada and the United States will meet in Ottawa today. Cross-border gun smuggling and drug smuggling will be on the agenda of the two countries.
The Canada-US Cross Border Crime Forum is bringing together Public Safety Minister Marco Mendicino, Justice Secretary David Lametti and their counterparts, Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, and Attorney General Merrick Garland.
All these leaders will address a news conference on Friday afternoon. Canada and the United States will announce new measures to intensify the fight against cross-border arms and drug smuggling.
Apart from this, issues like human trafficking and criminal justice reform will also be discussed to take strict measures.
