Vancouver: The police have identified the victim of the city’s 11th homicide of the year.

The victim, who was stabbed near Granville and Smithe streets just before 3:30 am on August 4, has been identified as 32-year-old Jose Kaze.

The Surrey resident was taken to hospital, but died due to his injuries.

The Vancouver Police have renewed appeals for anyone with information related to the incident to contact the police.

“We are still working to determine what the motive was for this murder,” said Constable Tania Visintin.

“Granville Street has a lot of vehicle, bike, and pedestrian traffic at all hours of the day. We believe there may be witnesses or people with video who have important information that could help us solve this crime,” she said.

No arrests have been made in connection with the stabbing.
