Chandigarh: Amritpal Singh, the head Waris Punjab De organization, tied the knot with Kirandeep Kaur of England on Friday.

Kirandeep Kaur is the daughter of Pyara Singh of village Kular and hails from Birmingham in the UK. The wedding was solemnised in a simple manner. The location of the wedding was changed at the last minute to Jallupur Khera village in Baba Bakala.

Earlier, Anand Karaj’s program for Amritpal Singh’s wedding was to be held near Gurudwara 6th Patshahi in Fatehpur village of Nakodar.

Given the possibility of a large number of people reaching there, the location was changed. Anand Karaj’s program took place from 7 am to 1 pm at Gurudwara Sahib of village Jallupur Khera. No special arrangements were made for the marriage at Gurdwara Sahib.

Amritpal is the head of Waris Punjab De, an organization founded by Deep Sidhu and is also running the campaign to promote Sikhism in Punjab along with propagating the ideology of Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale.

Talking to the media after the marriage, Amritpal said that it was because of the media that he changed the location of Anand Karaj. He said that he got married in a simple manner with the consent of his family and his wife’s family, as he is going to follow the teachings of Guru Sahib. He said that the marriage ceremony should be simple so that there is no burden in any family. All people should get married without any expense and in a very simple manner.

He said that now his wife will stay with him in India and will support him in the campaign of religious propaganda run by his organization.
