Chandigarh: Three unidentified armed youths opened indiscriminate fire and killed a youth at village Sathiala and another person was injured in the incident. According to police, the murder could be the result of a gang war.
According to the police, player was going to local village ground when unidentified assailants opened fire and killed him. They opened at least 25 bullets.
The deceased has been identified as 38-year-old Jarnail Singh, a resident of Sathiala. He was a weightlifter and was also the president of Government College Sathiala for a long time.
The police have recovered the body and are investigating the matter.
SSP Amritsar Rural Satinder Singh said that the accused in connection with the murder have been identified. They will soon be in police custody.
