New Delhi: Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge at an election rally in Nagaland said the Congress will lead the opposition alliance in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections and defeat the BJP.
For this, talks are going on with all opposition parties. Attacking PM Modi, he said that Prime Minister Narendra has said many times, ‘I am the only man who can face the country. No other people can touch me.’ No democratic person says that. Kharge said, “You are in a democracy, you should remember that you are not autocratic. You are not a dictator. You have been elected by the people and people will teach you a lesson.”
“In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, a coalition government will come to power at the Centre and the Congress will lead. “So, every party we are calling, we are talking, we are sharing our views. The BJP will not get a majority. Along with other parties we will get a majority… Even if 100 Modis and Shah come.”
“Our people have given their lives for freedom. You didn’t. BJP people should tell me whether any BJP leader has been hanged for freedom, or has he fought for freedom? Have you gone to jail? Instead, a man who got freedom, Mahatma Gandhi killed him and such people are talking about patriotism? For the unity of the country, Indira Gandhi gave her life,” he added.
