New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party leader Manish Sisodia has received a setback from the Delhi High Court. The High Court has rejected his bail plea in a money laundering case related to an alleged excise policy scam.

Sisodia had sought interim bail for 6 weeks from the Delhi High Court, which has been rejected by the High Court.

The court observed that the post held by Manish Sisodia raises the possibility that he may influence witnesses and evidence.

The court of Justice Dinesh Kumar Sharma gave the verdict on the interim bail plea. The former Delhi deputy chief minister had sought interim bail on the ground that he was the sole caretaker of his ailing wife. A petition by Sisodia seeking regular bail in the case is pending before the high court.

Sisodia, who was arrested on March 9 in the case, is lodged in Tihar Jail. The Delhi High Court had on Saturday reserved its verdict on Sisodia’s six-week interim bail plea and sought a report from the LNJP Hospital on the health condition of Sisodia’s wife Seema.
