Chandigarh: Five persons, including three minor girls, were killed when a speeding car rammed into a pole on Chandigarh Road in the wee hours on Tuesday, police said.
The woman sustained serious injuries and has been admitted to in a private hospital.
The deceased have been identified as Rajesh (33), Mahi (5), Khushi (3), Sanjana (30) and Jasmine (7). The deceased Rajesh’s wife Priya has been admitted to the CMC. The family was returning home after attending the wedding.
On the way, the car collided with a divider near Fortis Hospital on Chandigarh Road at around 2.45 am today and rammed into an electric pole. Incharge Gurmeet Singh of Police post Jeevan Nagar under Police Station Focal Point said that the car was over speeding and lost control over wheels due to which the accident took place.
Police have shifted the bodies to the civil hospital for post-mortem and family of deceased informed about the tragic incident.
