Chandigarh: Madan Lal Bagga, AAP MLA from Ludhiana (North), has given his son Gaurav Khurana the responsibility of his personal assistant (PA). Both have same address of the the residence.
Gaurav is the one who performs duties as the PA of his father Madan Lal Bagga. Although government rules do not prohibit this, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has already warned that no MLA or minister will attach his friend or relative with him.
Recently, Rashim Garg, a close aide of Bathinda (Rural) MLA Amit Rattan, was caught red-handed by the Vigilance while accepting bribe.
Amit Ratan’s close aide, who has been arrested by the Vigilance, is also a resident of Samana. Amit Rattan’s residence is in Patiala and he had taken his team with him from Patiala district.
After this incident, there has been a discussion about personal assistants across Punjab. Earlier, during the previous governments too, the MLAs had posted their relatives as PAs. Kewal Singh of Ghurkani village in Mansa district is posted as PA along with Baljinder Kaur, MLA from Talwandi Sabo constituency.
Many MLAs have joined the PA from other states. Independent candidate Rana Inderpartap Singh has posted Gurtej Singh of Udham Singh Nagar district of Uttarakhand as his PA while his father and Congress MLA Rana Gurjit Singh has posted his PA. Bisht has his PA on.
Similarly, Gurpreet Singh, of AAP MLA from Sahnewal, PA is Hardeep Singh, a resident of Faridabad in Haryana.
According to official information, MLA From Rampura Balkar Sidhu has appointed Davinder Singh of Mansa district as his PA. Vipin Sharma, PA of Congress MLA from Gidderbaha Raja Warring, is a resident of Lehragaga.
Moga MLA Amandeep Kaur Arora has given the responsibility to Valjinder Singh of village Chandumajra in Patiala district as her PA.
Muktsar MLA Jagdeep Singh Brar has assigned the job of PA to Vicky Kumar of Goniana Mandi in Bathinda.
Most of the MLAs have deployed residents of their village or constituency with them. AAP MLA from Fatehgarh Sahib, Lakhbir Singh Rai, has appointed Manavjit Singh of his village Mulepur as PA.
SAD MLA Manpreet Singh Ayali has given the responsibility to Rajneesh Sharma of his village, Gurpreet Singh from Sardulgarh constituency to Sandeep Singh of his village Bananwali, MLA From Lambi Gurmeet Singh Khudian to Hari Singh of his village Khudian Gulab Singh, Congress MLA from Abohar Sandeep Jakhar to Mohan Lal of his village Panjkosi as his PA.
