Chandigarh: The Punjab Police has got a tip-off about the whereabouts of two key accused in the murder case of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala. Gangster Sachin Thapan is in Azerbaijan and Anmol Bishnoi is in Kenya.

The two gangsters had gone out on fake passports even before Sidhu Moosewala was killed. According to sources, the Punjab Police and the Ministry of External Affairs are making rapid efforts to extradite Sachin Thapan.

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has sought details of the accused from the Punjab Police, their involvement in criminal incidents, arrest warrants and their role in the killing of Sidhu Moosewala. Efforts are on to arrest Anmol Bishnoi, brother of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, in Kenya.

Police officials revealed that the anti-gangster task force headed by Pramod Ban, which also includes AIG Gurmeet Chauhan and DSP Bikramjit Brar, has traced the fugitives.

The Anti-Gangster Task Force and Mansa police are preparing documents for Sachin’s extradition. The involvement of four gangsters sitting abroad in the murder of Sidhu Moosewala was revealed.

Apart from Sachin and Anmol Bishnoi, the names of Goldy Brar and Lipil Nehra have been included in these. While gangster Goldy Brar was the first to claim responsibility for the murder, Sachin later spoke in detail about Moosewala’s murder by putting up posts and giving interviews to the media.

Police officials said gangster Lawrence Bishnoi had arranged fake passports to protect his brother Anmol Bishnoi and close aide Sachin Thapan. The passports made on the basis of fake details were issued by the Regional Passport Office Delhi.

Lawrence had sent both of them abroad so that they could run the world of crime in India without any hindrance from there.

Bishnoi, who has 18 cases registered against him, was released on bail from Jodhpur jail on October 7 last year.

Similarly, 12 cases have been registered against Sachin Thapan.
