Man Hospitalized After Shots Fired Near Bear Creek Park in Surrey
Surrey Police Service (SPS) is investigating a shooting incident that left a man with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.
Officers responded at around 6:00 a.m. on Friday to reports of shots fired near Bear Creek Park, in the 13700 block of 88 Avenue. Police conducted searches in the park and surrounding residences.
At approximately 6:30 a.m., hospital staff notified SPS that a male had arrived with a gunshot injury. Investigators said the wound is not considered life-threatening.
SPS investigators will be interviewing the victim, while frontline officers continue collecting evidence and trying to determine the exact location of the shooting.
Police confirmed the incident is not linked to extortion and there is no ongoing risk to the public.
