Vancouver man facing new charges for breaching release conditions

A high-risk sex offender who was the subject of a Vancouver Police Department (VPD) public warning last fall is facing new charges.

Shaun Deacon was initially arrested on December 25, 2025, under a Canada-wide warrant for breaching his release conditions. Following the arrest, VPD’s High Risk Offender Unit investigated the breach.

On March 18, the B.C. Prosecution Service approved charges against Deacon for breach of a long-term supervision order, breach of a Section 161 prohibition order, and mischief under $5,000.

Deacon remains in custody as the legal process continues.
