Chandigarh: AAP’s crushing defeat in Gujarat elections may have an impact on the development policies of all regions of Punjab. Doubts remain over the implementation of the most prominent Old Pension Scheme (OPS) scheme, while the government has issued a short notification, including announcing its implementation. But since then, neither a detailed notification has been issued nor any further steps have been taken in this regard.

More than 3 lakh employees/retired pensioners of Punjab are demanding implementation of the scheme. Apart from this, many other new announcements have also been made by the AAP government of the state. But there is doubt about which scheme will be completed first according to priority.

Funds spent jn Gujarat

In the Gujarat elections, other resources, including the helicopters of the Punjab government, were used extensively. Even crores of rupees of Punjab were spent on election campaigning, government employees said.

Punjab Congress, SAD and Punjab BJP are raising all these questions and demanding answers from AAP government. The Punjab Congress has said that the AAP has spent several thousand crores of the state treasury in the Gujarat election campaign. This will create difficulties for Punjab, which is already struggling with economic crisis.

Claims to get more than 92 seats

AAP convenor and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal had spoken in writing about the party’s victory during the Gujarat election campaign. It also claimed to form the government with more than 92 seats. But on the contrary, AAP has been able to get only 5 seats.

AAP expresses happiness over formation of national party after defeat

It has been 10 years since AAP’s political journey. AAP has become a national party with 5 seats in Gujarat elections. AAP convenor Arvind Kejriwal has expressed happiness over the party getting the status of a national party even though it suffered a crushing defeat in the Gujarat elections. According to the votes received in the Gujarat elections, AAP has become a national party by law.
