Ottawa: Senior members of the Conservatives, NDP and Bloc Quebecois have been given a briefing about Canada’s approach to the Israel-Hamas conflict.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says he is concerned about how people at home are handling the news about the conflict.

Bloc Quebecois Leader Yves-Francois Blanchet, NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh and Conservative foreign affairs critic Michael Chong were in attendance.

Bloc Quebecois Leader Yves-Francois Blanchet says the meeting was held in a very candid way.

Blanchet described it as a frank, helpful exchange on Canada’s posture in the region and its perception of ongoing events. — The Canadian Press
