Surrey: A man was injured in a shooting incident in the Bear Creek area of Surrey on Friday.
Surrey RCMP said officers responded to the report of a shooting in a residential driveway located in the 8100 block of 144A Street on Friday at approximately 8:06 am.
According to the RCMP, officers located an adult male suffering from apparent gunshot wounds and provided medical assistance until Emergency Health Services arrived on the scene.
The man was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
In a statement, Surrey RCMP said officers were notified a vehicle fire at 125A Street and Colebrook Road at approximately 8:34 am.
“The vehicle located on fire is similar in description to the suspect vehicle seen fleeing the area of the shooting, however further investigation is required to link the two incidents,” Surrey RCMP said.
Surrey RCMP’s General Investigation Unit has been investigating both incidents and are in the evidence gathering stage.
The Mounties said it appears to be a targeted incident. However, the motive is unknown.
