Chandigarh: After officials of the Delhi Police Special Cell, who solved the murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala received death threats, the security of the 12 officers has been increased.

According to sources, special cell officials have been given security after the threat from Canada based gangster Lakhbir Singh Landa.

Those given the security covers include Special CP HGS Dhaliwal, DCP Rajiv Ranjan, Manishi Chandra, ACP Lalit Mohan Negi, Hriday Bhushan, Ved Prakash and Rahul Vikram, Inspector Vikram Dahiya, Vinod Kumar, Ravindra Joshi, Nishant Dahiya and Sunil Kumar Rajan.

The Special CP and the two DCPs have been given Y category security while a PSO along with other officers will be present round the clock.

In fact, Lakhbir Singh Landa, an associate of Punjab gangster Harvinder Rinda, threatened the officers through a post on social media. “Let me tell you one thing that we have everyone’s photo… If you see them in our streets, it is a good thing that if you do not see it, then they will enter your streets and kill them… Now let’s see who saves them.”

It also warned officer of the Special Cell to not try to enter Punjab. After this threat, security of the officers has been increased.
