Chandigarh: Concerned over poaching attempts of recently won Aam Aadmi Party MLAs in Gujarat by ruling BJP, the party has reportedly shifted all their five Gujarat MLS to Punjab recently.

It has come to fore that AAP booked rooms in the name of five MLAs at Punjab Bhawan, Chandigarh.

In Gujarat, five AAP MLAs have won, and there are speculation that BJP is trying to woo them to join the their party.

According to sources, five AAP MLAs have reached Punjab from Gujarat, out of which 2-3 MLAs also went to visit Sri Harmandir Sahib yesterday. The state government has not released any information related to this matter. The AAP fears that these MLAs may shif loyalties under BJP’s ‘Operation Lotus’.

In the past few days, there has been a buzz that AAP MLAs in Gujarat may join the BJP. An AAP MLA, Bhupit Bhayani, had even praised the BJP leadership after winning the election, but it is a different matter that this MLA had distanced himself from this praise on the second day itself.

The AAP high command fears that the BJP may poach these MLAs and there is also a fear that the possible revolt could lead to AAP’s ire.

According to sources, rooms have been booked for them through the chief minister’s residence.

The AAP had fought the elections with full enthusiasm and vigour, however, it got only five seats.

Although the Aam Aadmi Party established itself as a national party by securing 12.9 per cent votes, the party has fallen short of its target of forming government.

Now AAP seems to have launched this campaign to save its five MLAs from the BJP.
