The City of Surrey announced today that the Guildford Aquatic Centre will reopen to the public and aquatic sport team use on Tuesday, July 13 with appropriate health and safety measures in place.  Protocols include designated times for lane swimming and leisure swims with modified access to amenities like diving boards and the hot tub.

“Pools and summer go hand in hand” said Mayor Doug McCallum. “That’s why I am so pleased that we are reopening the Guildford Aquatic Centre to the public and sports teams. The people of Surrey have done a phenomenal job in getting vaccinated, which is a major reason why we are able to reopen the pool as new case levels fall. Some adjustments have been made to ensure for health and safety, and you can help us keep everyone safe by observing the measures that have been put in place.”

“The reopening of the Guildford Aquatic Centre is another indicator that we are heading in the right direction in the fight against COVID,” said Councillor Laurie Guerra, Chair, Parks, Recreation and Culture Committee. “I invite everyone to make full use of this wonderful pool and help us keep it open by following the protocols put in place for the health and safety of both patrons and staff.”
