Chandigarh: The Operation Cell of Chandigarh Police has arrested 4 operatives of Davinder Bambiha gang, who were reportedly hatching planning to kill Punjabi singers Babbu Mann and Mankirt Aulakh to avenge the killing of Sidhu Moosewala, police said on Wednesday.

The gang is being run by Lucky Patial, currently settled in Armania. The arrested accused have been identified as Mannu Batta (29) of Village Burail in Sector 45, Chandigarh, Aman Kumar alias Vicky (29) of Panchkula, Sanjeev alias Sanju (23) and Kaldeep alias Kimmi (26) of Maloya, police said.

A case was registered against them under Sections 384, 386, 120B of the IPC and sections 25, 54 and 59 of the Arms Act.

Inspector Amanjot Singh, in-charge of the operation cell, said that the gang used to operate through WhatsApp from abroad.

Police said that at the behest of Lakki Patial and his associates, Mukul Rana, his associate Mannu Batta, a resident of Burail, are threatening and extorting local businessmen, hotels, discs, club owners, property dealers, builders, restaurant owners, liquor contractors and other rich people. He was arrested along with his gang members on March 12.

During the interrogation, it has come to fore that they have planned the killing of both Punjabi singers by bringing weapons from Jammu and Kashmir through an associate of Patial.
