Ottawa: Transport Minister Omar Alghabra will appear before the Transport Committee of the House of Commons today to explain about the delays at airports and cancellation of flights that have wreaked havoc on travellers over the past several months.

The Alghabra’s office says the situation has improved over the past few weeks. Over the past few months, flights at Canadian airports have been either being delayed or cancelled. Due to this, there is a rush of people and goods at the airports.

Toronto’s Pearson International Airport has been ranked as the worst airport in the world due to the delay in flights.

The transport committee members voted unanimously last week to hold a hearing on delays and invite the minister to clarify the position in the matter.

The proposal was moved by Conservative MP and transport critic Melissa Lentsman.
