British Columbia: Environment Canada has issued a dust advisory for the Houston region due to high amounts of particulate matter in the air.
It is also continuing the same air quality statement in the community of Burns Lake, which has been in effect since Saturday.
The weather office also issued similar advisories for Smithers, Prince George and Vanderhoof today.
The statements, which cover a large section of central and northern B-C, say the dusty conditions will persist unless it rains or if traffic patterns ease because dust levels are highest near busy roads and industrial facilities.
