New Delhi: As part of his campaign to expand his outreach to the Muslim community, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat visited a mosque and a madrasa here and met All India Imam Sangathan chief Ahmed Ilyasi. Imam, while interacting with children at the madrasa, called RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat the “Father of the Nation”. “He is the ‘Father of the Nation’. We discussed a number of issues for the strengthening of the country. Bhagwat, however, intervened and said that there is only one father of the nation here and everyone is a child of India. ’
Ilyasi and Bhagwat met for about an hour at the mosque. “Bhagwat’s visit should send a message that we all want to work together for the strengthening of India. For all of us, the country comes first. Our DNA is one. We are different from religion and methods of worship. After the sangh chief’s visit, RSS campaign chief Sunil Ambedkar said Mohan Bhagwat is meeting people from all communities. This is part of continuing the normal dialogue process.
