Vancouver : Mounties in North Vancouver say scammers are preying on Taylor Swift fans who want tickets to her Vancouver concerts.
R-C-M-P say they have received two reports of Facebook Marketplace users being scammed while trying to purchase Taylor Swift tickets, with each victim losing more than one-thousand dollars.
Police say in both cases, the victims had e-transferred money to someone posing as a ticket seller online and the scammers later blocked their accounts after receiving the payment.
Mounties say people looking for second-hand concert tickets can protect themselves from scams by avoiding sending money through e-transfers. One victim lost $1120, and another victim lost $1400 due this scams.
