Kelowna: Police in Kelowna say an alleged would-be robber ended up with a broken leg after an attempted hold-up.

R-C-M-P say the suspect pointed a weapon at the victim through a vehicle window and demanded the cash they had just withdrawn from an ATM.

In an attempt to escape, the victim backed out of the parking spot and accidentally hit the suspect, causing a fractured leg.

The Mounties say the driver called 911 and remained at the scene until police arrived, and the suspect was remanded into custody after a visit to the hospital. — The Canadian Press
