Mississauga: A flood-like situation was created a watermain break along Mississauga’s waterfront and several cars were trapped in the water on Thursday night, peel regional police said.
Police said this led to waterlogging on Lakeshore Road. Therefore, Lakeshore Road has been closed between Lauren Park Road and Mississauga Road.
The police also said that no injuries have been reported during this time and the crew is present at the spot to resolve the issue.
Police said that crews continue to work on clearing the roadway and Lakeshore road is now only closed between Lorne and Park Rd & Ibar Way.
Rescue teams are advising that this stretch of roadway will remain closed until approximately 5pm tomorrow afternoon. Presence of sinkholes are now forming by the team. The operation is underway.
